Gryphons by babbletrish Gryphons by babbletrish
Drawing painted in Photoshop, with Photoshop text and effects.

I made this shortly after visiting the traveling "Mythical Creatures" exhibit. Pretty sure it speaks for itself but for those who are blissfully unaware: There are a handful of anthropologists who are under the assumption that every mythical creature ever is directly based upon one specific real thing or other (I like to call this the "Ancient People Were Incapable Of Using Their Imaginations Theory"). By far, the strangest such theory is that Gryphons = misinterpreted Protoceratops fossil instead of, you know, a hybrid of the two most awesome animals known to the ancient world. Yeah...

Thanks! By the way, are you still seeking Pokemon artists? (And what's an OCT?)

Original Character Tournament--make an OC (or use an existing one) and torture them---I mean, have them compete in challenges and win nifty stuff. It's grand fun, and I've been wanting to start one myself, however, I lack the artistic prowess to fully design/run/judge/make art for it all by my lonesome. So yes, I'm still in the market! :aww:

I agree. Even though Protoceratops do indeed look like Gryphons. ...wait.... Protoceratops....proto-cera-tops... But.... oh no, the "Land before Time" is innacurate! my childhood...
